As the next entry in the long-running shooter franchise and the first to make its debut on next-gen consoles, anticipation is building for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War ahead of its November launch. PS4 owners had their first chance to try the game out in an alpha test last weekend, and in a few weeks, the game's beta tests will begin across all platforms.

Activision has revealed the official beta dates for Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War, which will officially kick off starting in October. Specifically, PS4 owners will get the first chance to dive into the beta with pre-order early access on October 8-9, followed by an open beta on October 10-12. After that, Xbox One and PC early access will open up on October 15-16 (with an open beta on PS4), followed by an open beta across all platforms on October 17-19.

Cold War has had several appearances at gaming events in the past few weeks, including its long-awaited multiplayer reveal and new single-player gameplay footage, including a new look at Sony's PS5 Showcase last week. Additionally, it has also been confirmed that the title will also support cross-play across platforms, including cross-gen play between the current-gen consoles and the PS5/Xbox Series X. The title will also have an upgrade path for those that want to pick up the current-gen versions and upgrade to the PS5/Series X versions, but at an additional cost.

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War will release for PS5, Xbox Series X,  Xbox Series S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 13, 2020.
