Call of Duty: Black Ops III’s Box Art Hides a Cool Easter Egg That Veteran Fans Will Love

on April 26, 2015 2:03 PM

Today Activision officially revealed the box art of Call of Duty: Black Ops III, and it’ll immediately look familiar to veterans of the series.

The posture of the protagonist is pretty much the same we saw in the cover of the first Call of Duty: Black Ops, but that’s actually not the only similarity. Can you spot it in the picture below, showing both covers side by side?

If you still can’t spot it, don’t worry.¬†We’re here to help. Check out the zoomed version below:

Looks like “Sally” is back, which means that the other one is probably its twin “Mustang,” returning from the previous Black Ops games.

The name “Mustang and Sally” is a homage to the 1965 song “Mustang Sally” by Mack Rice.

Of course the dual-wielded guns aren’t Colt M1911 anymore, since the new game is set in a dystopian future, but they still look quite badass, don’t they?
