Around this time every year, Activision typically opts to reveal the latest entry in the annualized Call of Duty franchise. In 2019, that trend looks like it will continue.

During today's call going over financial results from the first quarter of 2019, Activision confirmed that the upcoming Call of Duty title developed by Infinity Ward will be unveiled soon. Specifically, Activision stated that the game would be revealed later on in the year's second quarter. For those unaware, that means that the game will be announced any time between now and June 30, which is when Q2 ends.

Again, this isn't really surprising in the slightest, especially considering that E3 2019 is coming up. While the reveal itself might not occur until E3, typically, Activision opts to show it off a couple of weeks before the LA-based convention, like it did last year with Black Ops 4. Then again, since the company is in a transition year in 2019 and is trying to cut certain costs, maybe this year's announcement won't be as extravagant.

As for other vital information that Activision shared about this year's Call of Duty, there's not much to say. Those at Activision continue to say that they're very excited for this year's edition of the game and believe that it will do well once it releases. As for the release of the game itself, it was confirmed to arrive in Q4 of this year, which means at some point between the start of October and end of December.

Considering some have already played this year's edition of Call of Duty, I'd wager that we'll likely see the game's formal reveal here before the end of the month. If rumors are any indication, the game should be that of Modern Warfare 4, but this hasn't been confirmed just yet. Either way, we'll know more about the upcoming Call of Duty here before you know it.
