Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Joins Xbox One Backward Compatibility this Week
Modern Warfare 2 is widely considered one of the best shooters of last generation and now you can finally play it on your Xbox One.
One of the most popular games from last generation has finally joined the Xbox One Backward Compatibility program this week and the middle school version of myself is very pleased.
Xbox’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb announced on Twitter today that after endless asking from fans, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has now officially joined the list of compatible Xbox 360 titles that can be played on Xbox One. Modern Warfare 2 originally launched in 2009 and was likely one of the most important games in the series that rocketed Call of Duty into being one of gaming’s biggest franchises.
While there were rumors earlier in the year that Modern Warfare 2 would be getting a remastered edition in the same way that the original Modern Warfare did two years ago, that announcement never came to fruition. Revisiting the game on your Xbox One now seems to be the best way to go if you’re itching to dive back in for the first time of the fiftieth.
If you don’t have your old Xbox 360 copy of Modern Warfare 2 lying around anymore, then don’t worry, as the game is also on sale digitally this week. Those with Xbox Live Gold can pick it up for $14.99 with it costing $19.99 for those who aren’t subscribed.
