Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta Breaks Franchise Records
The recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta is the most successful in Call of Duty history bringing in most users, hours played, and highest peak concurrent players across all platforms.
Did you play the recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta between September 12 and September 23? If so, you weren’t the only one. In fact, it was the biggest beta in franchise history. According to Activision, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta saw the most users, hours played, and highest peak concurrent players across Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Part of this success could be attributed to crossplay which allowed those participating in the beta to play with together, no matter what your preferred platform is. Creative director and co-studio head of Infinity Ward Patrick Kelly says, “We’re focused on delivering the best online experience possible and that includes bringing the community together with crossplay.” He also states that the team appreciates all of the feedback the player base has shared and that it will help improve the game when it launches next month.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta featured a lot of the multiplayer modes the game will offer at launch. This includes 2v2 Gunfight, Team Deathmatch, and the new large-scale mode Ground War that pins up to 64 players against each other.
