Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Developer Teases that Gameplay Reveal is Coming Soon
It sounds like our first actual look at gameplay from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is right around the corner.
Most people who have seen the first initial gameplay for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare have come away speaking highly of it. Our own Tanner Pierce saw this year’s edition of the annualized franchise at E3 2019 and came away raving about what was shown. While there seems like quite a bit to be excited about in Call of Duty this year, the only problem is that formal gameplay has yet to be revealed to the general public.
Well, luckily, it seems like that could be changing quite soon. In a recent Reddit thread over on the Modern Warfare subreddit, one fan asked why Infinity Ward doesn’t just divulge when it’s going to finally announce the gameplay reveal date. One developer, art director Joel Emslie from Infinity Ward, ended up chiming in on the thread and promised that gameplay footage arriving is “almost there.”
It’s not a lot to go off of and without a specific window of time listed, it’s hard to know just when gameplay for Modern Warfare might actually drop. That said, with the game releasing only four months from now, you’d have to imagine that Activision and Infinity Ward won’t wait a whole lot longer to show off what Call of Duty has in store this year.
Personally, I’d say we’re likely to get a proper gameplay reveal sometime soon once the calendar turns over to July. Let’s hope that I’m right.
Until that time, you’ll just have to continue to trust that we’ve seen so far is very positive. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set to launch later this year on October 25 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
