Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is Getting Massively Popular 3v3 Gunfight

Infinity Ward outlines what’s coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in their latest Community Update including Gunfight 3v3.

Just over a month ago developer Infinity Ward kicked off Season One of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare which has included a slew of new maps, modes, weapons, and Spec. Ops content. However, that is just the tip of the iceberg — Infinity Ward is starting off the new year with a glimpse of what is to come to the latest installment of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare in the latest Community Update.

According to the update, Gunfight 3v3 will be added to the multiplayer playlist. For reference, Gunfight is the popular multiplayer game mode that is 2v2 teams fighting it out to the death. If after 40 seconds there is no winner, a flag spawns and the objective changes to defending it for three seconds. Unlike other modes, there is no need to create a class: both teams start with a pre-determined class that changes every two rounds for a total of six rounds. The mode is currently also offering a 1v1 mode that was just added earlier this week.

On top of that, Gunfight tournaments which were introduced in November as a beta will return soon. Infinity Ward will bring the tournaments back once they fix a few bugs and add in new rewards. Currently, Modern Warfare only offers players five customizable loadout slots but as requested, more will be added over the coming weeks. Throughout the year Infinity Ward will also offer several chances for players to level up in Modern Warfare with 2XP Tier events.

Infinity Ward has shown their commitment to listening to their fans and keeping us updated and has introduced the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Trello board. The Trello board will keep players in the loop with updates, issues being tracked, support and sneak peeks into upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare events. The Trello board can be updated in real-time, so be sure to bookmark it and check it often.

Moving forward Call of Duty Modern Warfare will receive updates through a simple calendar to show you what types of content you can expect:

  • Tuesday – Playlist updates
  • Thursday – Developer diary and or a behind the scenes blog
  • Friday –  Community Update blog

The new calendar system will be in addition to regular updates such as patches and title updates. Patch notes will be posted to Infinity Ward’s website, Trello board, and their social media outlets.
