The day is almost here. After months and months of season 1, we are finally about to enter the next content season of Modern Warfare. That's right, Infinity Ward and Activision have officially detailed everything coming in season 2 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and it's getting me excited, to say the least.

First and foremost, players will be getting two maps. The first is a remaster of an old favorite from Modern Warfare 2, Rust. This is one of my favorite Call of Duty maps of all time and might I say, it's looking very nice in this game. Rust will be available both in 6v6 game modes, as well as the 2v2 mode Gunfight.

In addition, players will also be able to jump into a brand new, original map, Atlas Superstore. This takes place in what seems to be some sort of Costco-like superstore...only Russian. It'll be interesting to see both how vertical the map is and if you're able to go outside. Either way, it seems like it'll be a ton of fun. Atlas Superstore will be available for standard multiplayer modes only.

Gunfight is also getting some love with this new update. Bazaar takes place in a very cramped marketplace, with a few vertical areas in order to get the drop on your opponents.

On the Ground War side of things, we have Zhokov Boneyard. Previously featured as a part of the game's Spec-Ops mode, this map will allow players to run through an aircraft boneyard. You'll even be able to drive your ATV through the aircraft...which is pretty awesome.

Of course, what would be a new Call of Duty content season without some new weaponry? This time around we have the Grau 5.56 assault rifle and the Striker 45, the latter of which looks strikingly similar to the UMP .45 from Modern Warfare 2.

All of the previously mentioned content, including the already revealed Ghost operator, will available on day one. Beyond that, there's another new multiplayer map coming later in the season, as well as new game modes and another new weapon.

In addition to the announcement itself, Infinity Ward also released a brand new trailer, which shows off all of the new content coming. You can check it out at the end of the article.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
