New Season of Call of Duty World League Begins Today

The annual Call of Duty eSports league presented by PlayStation 4 has officially begun, with the opening weekend being held this year in Atlanta, Georgia.

Today, Call of Duty publisher Activision, Inc. has announced the annual Call of Duty World League has officially begun, with the opening festivities kicking off this weekend.

According to the press release, over 170 teams from around the world will duke it out in Call of Duty: WWII on PlayStation 4 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia; the event has begun today and will conclude on Sunday, March 11. Given this being the opening weekend, this particular event also serves as an essential stop during the Call of Duty World League season, winners of this season will receive largest money prize in Call of Duty eSports history, $4.2 million.

Currently, teams that have qualified for the Call of Duty World League Atlanta Open bracket includes:

  • OpTic Gaming

  • Rise Nation
  • FaZe Clan
  • Echo Fox

  • Lightning Pandas* (substituting for team Epsilon)
