Call of Duty: WWII has taken up a lot of my time since it launched earlier this month, but I’ve constantly wondered when we would get our first in-game event. Well, we now have our answer, as late last night, developer Sledgehammer Games revealed that an event titled Winter Siege would be coming to the game in just two weeks, on December 8, 2017.
While full details about the event have not yet been revealed, it was announced that the bonus map Carentan (which is available exclusively to season pass owners) will be getting snowy overlay in the form of Winter Carentan. The best part is that it’ll be available to everyone, completely free of charge, during the event. It was also revealed that at least one new game mode will be added to the game during the event as well.
Winter Siege is set to last until sometime in early January. While it hasn’t been officially announced, I would also expect the Headquarters to receive some kind of holiday overlay as well.
In addition to that, it was also revealed that a brand new update for the game will be coming sometime next week. As of the time of this writing, we don’t know if it will include anything major, however, it will provide fixes for a ton of bugs, including out-of-map exploits, Party issues, and UI improvements.
Finally, to celebrate Thanksgiving Day in the United States, 2XP will be turned on from today, November 22, 2017, to Monday, November 27, 2017.
Call of Duty: WWII was officially released on November 3, 2017, and is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
