Ever since the Winter Siege event in December, players have been eager for a new event in Call of Duty: WWII, and now, they are finally going to get their wish. Today, developer Sledgehammer Games announced The Resistance Community Event for the game, and just like the previous one, it adds a ton of free content.

First and foremost, three new weapons are going to be added: the Volkssturgewehr rifle, the ORSO sub-machine gun, and the 9mm SAP pistol. Just like the Winter Siege weapons, players can unlock the standard version of these guns through Order's or you can unlock the individual variants through new Resistance Supply Drops.

In addition to that, players will also receive access to a brand new Resistance Division. With it, players will be able to use a tactical knife with their pistols, learn the direction of nearby enemies, and more. You can out the full list of abilities in the image below.

Finally, two brand new game modes are coming. The first is Demolition, which has been a part of the Call of Duty franchise for a long time, and similar to Search and Destroy, except for the fact that players can respawn in the former, but not the latter. The second mode is Prop Hunt, returning from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, where it made its first appearance. In it, one team of players take the form of different objects around the map, while the other is given a weapon and is tasked with hunting them.

Call of Duty: WWII The Resistance Community Event is set to begin in just a few days, on January 23, 2018, and will end more than a month later, on February 27, 2018. During the span of the event, players will receive one free Resistance Supply Drop each week.

To celebrate the announcement of the new event, a brand new trailer was also released. You can check it out at the end of the article.

Call of Duty: WWII was originally released on November 3, 2017, and is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
