Can Dratini be Shiny in Pokemon Go? - Spotlight Hour May 2021
It’s now 11 days into May and we’re about to approach our second Pokemon GO Spotlight Hour of the month.
Following Cottonnee last week, we have one of the original Dragon-type Pokemon this week – Dratini.
Dratini will be appearing in droves for an hour from 6 pm in player’s local timezones, alongside double Candy for transferring Pokemon.
New players will be wondering, however, can Dratini be shiny in Pokemon GO for this week’s Spotlight Hour? Here’s your answer.

What Does Shiny Dratini, Dragonair and Dragonite Look Like?
The trio undergo some pretty substantial changes when comparing their normal colours to their Shiny forms.
Dratini changes from its usual pale blue colour to a pale shade of pink and Dragonair undergoes a similar transformation.
Dragonite follows a similar pattern as the other two, however, with another vastly different colour. It changes from its pale orange to a very interesting shade of green.

- Pokemon GO – How to Evolve Pancham into Pangoro
For the first time in a few weeks, the answer is a resounding yes, however, this likely won’t be a surprise to many Pokemon GO players.
Dratini was the second ever Pokemon to feature as part of a Community Day, all the way back in February 2018.
The Dragon Pokemon appeared, granting players 3x catch Stardust, as well as the special move “Draco Meteor” for its evolution Dragonite. Since then, Dratini has gone on to feature in a range of different events.
Will it Have an Increased Shiny Rate?
As with all Spotlight Hours, Dratini unfortunately won’t receive any boosted Shiny odds.
According to The Silph Road, Dratini only has a 1/500 chance of being shiny. This means that for every 500 Dratini players click on, providing RNG is playing ball, players should encounter one Shiny.
