It's quite a busy week for the iconic gaming hero Mega Man. Not only has his latest title Mega Man 11 hit the shelves, but Capcom has also announced that the Blue Bomber will star in his own upcoming movie.

According to Capcom, the live-action movie will be penned by Henry Jost and Ariel Schulman while being produced by Masi Oka; best known for the role of Hiro Nakamura in the TV series Heroes. The movie, currently running under the working title of MEGA MAN, will be designed to appeal to gamers and non-gamers alike by bringing Hollywood levels of action to the big screen while staying through Mega Man's ongoing lore.

Capcom is no stranger to exporting its IPs to live action movie adaptations. The Resident Evil franchise has enjoyed a run of six big-budget movies along with two CG films. The iconic fighting game Street Fighter has also seen two live-action movies, a Youtube series, and a number of animes. Even the Phoenix Wright franchise saw a silver-screen adaptation of its over-the-top courtroom drama.

There is no current release window for MEGA MAN, but those who want more of the Blue Bomber in their lives can enjoy the latest in his 30-year long video game run with Mega Man 11 which is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The game is also currently available from Amazon. Check out our review for a more in-depth look at Mega Man's latest outing.
