Capcom Announces Returning Difficulty Settings for Devil May Cry

Capcom has revealed some exciting new details about the upcoming Ninja Theory developed action title DMC. Although a lot about the game appears to be different compared to past series entries, the infamous numerous difficulty settings will apparently be making a comeback. These newly announced difficulty settings include: Son of Sparda, Dante Must Die, Heaven or Hell and Hell and Hell.

These settings have been lifted directly from Devil May Cry 3 and 4 and they appear to work the same way. Son of Sparda and Dante Must Die both add bigger enemy waves and much stronger enemies overall. Heaven or Hell makes every character and enemy – Dante included – die after a single hit connects. In the ridiculous Hell and Hell mode, only Dante dies after receiving any damage, while all other enemies and characters remain powerful.

While these difficulty settings aren’t by any means new, it is nice to see something unchanged make a full return from the past games. Capcom has also shared a big batch of new screenshots of the game, so do check them out below. DMC will be available in North America on January 15th, 2012.
