Capcom Applies for “Monster Hunter Generations” Trademark Ahead of Nintendo Direct

on March 2, 2016 7:22 PM

According to the Office of Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) — the European Unions principal trademark registration catalog — Capcom has filed an application for “Monster Hunter Generations.” First spotted by Nerd Leaks, the application is filed under class 9 (game software), 28 (handheld electronic), and 41 (online game software).

Trademark Monster Hunter Generations

Of note, this trademark application was filed today — the day before Nintendo’s surprise Direct detailing upcoming Nintendo 3DS and Wii U software. If announced tomorrow, there is no word whether this would be a completely new game in the Monster Hunter series or instead a localization of the currently Japanese-only Monster Hunter X (Cross). Feel free to speculate in the comments!
