Capcom, Namco-Bandai and Sega Reveal Project X Zone

A while back a mysterious site appeared teasing a collaboration between Japanese heavy hitters Capcom, Namco and Sega. This game was revealed over the weekend as Project X Zone, a Nintendo 3DS exclusive follow-up to the Japan-only Namco X Capcom. The reveal came along with a sizable trailer and a huge batch of screenshots and art, both of which give us a good look at this exciting title.

The battle system looks real time and is probably derivative of the one that appeared in the aforementioned Namco X Capcom, but I can’t be sure. Several characters have been revealed and just about all of them are fan favorites, including Dante from Devil May Cry, KOS-MOS from Xenosaga, and Akira from Virtua Fighter.

Personally, I don’t think a game with so many big names tied to it could be locked into Japanese exclusivity (and because the 3DS is region locked, even importers should be concerned about this), but we saw what happened with Namco X Capcom so there’s really no telling if it’ll ever reach America. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
