Capcom Releases Inaugural Trailer for Sonic & Mega Man - Archie Comics "Worlds Collide" Crossover

It is not a full-blown game, it is not even a downloadable game, and thus, this form of the crossover can be considered the next best thing. Archie Comics have brought together two of the most popular video game characters from the 90’s in an epic storyline that will span 12-issues. Entitled “Worlds Collide” (no one thought to use anything other than the most cliche title in history for this arc?), the story brings together Dr. Robotnik and Dr. Wily. With Wily’s expertise on robots and Robotnik’s access to the chaos emeralds, it seems like a match made in heaven.

The storyline looks to bring together every conceivable member of Sonic and Mega Man’s supporting casts; both friend and foe. I would not be surprised if a motion comic is released at a later date, judging from the reception to the trailer. Also notable was a panel teased in the trailer that showed both Sonic and Mega Man utilizing the power of the chaos emeralds (Super Sonic and Super Mega Man).

The arc started yesterday with the release of Mega Man #24 and will continue in other books such as Sonic Universe and Sonic the Hedgehog.
