The Japanese official Twitter account for Biohazard, the Japanese name of Resident Evil, published on August 29 a tweet announcing Project Resistance.
According to the info from the teaser site linked in the tweet, Project Resistance is the project code name for a new game coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC via Steam. The tweet mentions more details and a teaser trailer will be revealed on September 9 at 3PM UTC.
The biggest possibilities on what Capcom is planning would be either a remake of Resident Evil 3 or a new Resident Evil 8. Capcom has been looking for feedback from Resident Evil Ambassadors on new game, and the Japanese studio spoke up twice about that this month.
Project Resistance will also be playable at TGS 2019 by a handful of fans with a Japanese My Capcom account who'll win a lottery. Capcom is seeking feedback from those fans, so it's all but confirmed Project Resistance and the game Capcom is needing feedback for since early August are one and the same.
Resident Evil 2 Remake is one of Capcoms biggest successes in years, so it's not surprising to see the studio keeps going with another episode so soon. Especially as the new game will probably just reuse Resident Evil 2 Remake's engine.
Anyway, we'll know more on September 10, and the game will also be featured at Tokyo Games Show 2019, held from September 12 to 15. Capcom will hold stage events for Project Resistance on all of these days.
