Yoshinori Ono Developing Unannounced PS4 Game; Still Working at Capcom

on June 16, 2014 9:09 PM

Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono resigned today from his position as Director of Capcom Vancouver, but he’s still working at Capcom proper on all his existing projects, as he mentioned today on Twitter.

My position within Capcom has not changed and I’m still involved in all of the projects that I’m currently working on.

Only my role for Capcom Vancouver has ended.

Even more interestingly, his Linkedin profile has been recently updated (as discovered by Dark Rider on NeoGAF), to include a yet unannounced “201X unreleased title PS4” for which he’s working as a Producer. While we don’t know what this game may be about, it’s not Deep Down, as that one is explicitly listed by name.

Back in February Ono-san traveled to Hong Kong and China in order to research for an unnamed “next title.” During that trip he was accompanied by “Sony Computer Entertainment staff,” which indicates a PlayStation title. This leads us to believe that this new PS4 game could¬†possibly¬†be set in China.

Of course there’s no way to be sure about that, but it definitely seems a solid lead. Of course you can expect to read all about it here on DualShockers as soon as any new element surfaces.
