Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Gameplay Demo Features a Familiar World

on June 10, 2014 3:05 PM

For anyone who fell in love with Super Mario 3D World will be pleased to know the beloved character Captain Toad is getting his own spin-off game in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker for the Wii U.

Nintendo showed live gameplay footage during the Nintendo Treehouse presentation today, featuring a wide variety of levels and new puzzles for Toad to explore in a contained, isometric view.

Captain Toad unfortunately can’t jump, however players can investigate levels from first-person perspective and can interact with the world by using the Wii U GamePad such as picking up turnips and throwing them at enemies, Super Mario 2 style.

Familiar enemies from the Mushroom Kingdom will be featured as they impede Captain Toad’s treasure hunting as players guide him through levels they can’t twist and turn to solve visual puzzles and platforming challenges.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will release this holiday.
