Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions Online Challenge Season One Kicks Off Today
Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions kicks off its first online season, complete with new daily and weekly challenges to aim for.
Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions stands out from your typical soccer sim titles. The game mixes charming anime players and a real-time rock-paper-scissors dribbling system to produce the most unique game on the market. And now, players are about to get even more to do. Today marks the beginning of season one for the game’s online mode. That means tons of new daily and weekly challenges for players to take on in hopes of earning new content. It’s not quite as intricate as FIFA‘s Ultimate Team offerings; however, it does give you more reasons to hop back on the pitch. Check it out.
Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions‘ first season is actually the beginning of the game’s ongoing content map. Soon, players will have new paid DLC characters along with new single-player scenarios and modes to mess around with. It’s great to see Bandai Namco supporting the game with so much post-launch content.
However, the important thing, for now, is what you can do in season one. The new online challenges will reward players with several types of content. Most notably, you’ll earn some of the games’ two forms of in-game currency. Captain Coins let you grab items to help you play better in online matches, while Player Points, let you buy new card packs. Both currencies can also be used to get new cosmetics for your custom players.
All told, this seems like a very solid addition to Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions. Personally, I probably won’t be getting back into it because I was mostly there for the excellent story mode. That said, I’m happy to see online players getting new stuff to work for.
