Today, Netflix’s animated Castlevania series received some insight into the cast that will be voicing various characters, courtesy of the series’ producer Adi Shankar and actor Graham McTavish.
First up, we have Graham McTavish, who will be playing the dark lord himself, Dracula. You might recognize McTavish from his work in Outlander, The Hobbit, or even as Zoran Lazarevic in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. The actress who will be playing Dracula’s wife, Lisa Tepes, is Emily Swallow (Supernatural, The Mentalist).
Richard Armitage, who fans might also find familiar from his work in The Hobbit as Thorin, will be voicing Trevor Belmont. The man bearing arms alongside Belmont, against Dracula, will be James Callis, who is likely most known for playing Dr. Gaius Baltar in Battlestar Galactica.
Then, we learned that Alejandra Reynoso will be voicing Sypha Belnades. Matt Frewer (Orphan Black, Watchment) will be playing a character only being called ‘The Bishop,’ and Tony Amendola (Dexter, Stargate SG-1) will voice ‘The Elder.’
As previously supposed, the cast for the Castlevania animated series seems to imply that it will follow the events of Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse, but that has yet to be officially confirmed.
Castlevania will become available on Netflix on July 7. Below, you can see Shankar and McTavish's video reveal.
