Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Mirror of Fate Could Hit HD Consoles

In a chat with CVG, Dave Cox from Mercury Steam said that an HD version of their upcoming game, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Mirror of Fate, could be considered based on the success of the 3DS version.

The game was actually developed with all assets in high definition and the downsized to work on the Nintendo 3DS. Dave Cox said, “We created everything in high definition – all the textures, all the levels, high-poly models, everything – and we kind of shrunk it all down into the 3DS.”

He also mentions that there is an HD version of the game sitting on a computer in their offices. But, until the exclusivity deal for the game has passed the time until a possible HD version to be released will be awhile.

Castlevania fans that want to see more of the Belmont clan will want to pick up the game for the 3DS on March 5th in the US or March 8th in the UK. Hopefully with enough support we may see Simon Belmont whipping Dracula into shape in HD.
