Castlevania Netflix Series First Poster Bleeds with Nostalgia

A first look at the new, animated television series comes in the form of its first poster. Dracula's crib is looking... orange.

Adi Shankar has far from kept it a secret that he is producing a Netflix series of Castlevania. Today, on Facebook, he shared the first poster for the show.

In the poster seen below, we see Dracula’s Castle, as most will remember it from Castlevania or Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It’s looking a little blood-tinged in the moonlight.

Netflix has described the animated show as “a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself.”

Castlevania is being written by Warren Ellis and animated by Frederator Studios. Shankar has also noted that the series will be loosely based on Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse and will be “super R-rated.”

Castlevania will be releasing on Netflix sometime in 2017. Adi Shankar recently described his intent is for the show’s action scenes to be of equal quality to Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings.
