According to a Tweet from Warren Ellis, the writer behind Netflix’s Castlevania series, the show is going to be returning to Netflix sometime this summer with double the episodes compared to season one.

Last year, when the series premiered in July with four episodes it was quickly renewed for a second season. While Netflix revealed that there were eight episodes in the works for season two, this is the first time we’ve been given a timeframe as to when we can expect the next part in the animated series.
The producer behind Netflix’s Castlevania series, Adi Shankar, is also working on an animated Assassin’s Creed series that’ll be similar to Castlevania. Furthermore, Koji Igarashi, one of the creative minds behind Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is releasing the spiritual successor to that game with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. I got the chance to preview the game in October last year at New York Comic Con.
The last video game entry we got in the illustrious tale of the Belmonts came with 2014’s Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. Hopefully, if the series continues to grow in popularity Konami won’t make us wait too much longer for a new entry in the long-running series.
