Catherine Director Addresses Confusion, is Releasing Demo as Response

Atlus’ Catherine is one of my most hotly anticipated games of the new year. I’ve been watching the videos and reading every article I can find about the Persona team’s first PS3/Xbox 360. What is it about? No goddamn idea.

Apparently I’m not the only one who’s confused about the game and director Katsura Hashino is taking note. In an official blog post this week he revealed that the team will be releasing a demo to help their potential audience form a better idea about what they’re getting into before they purchase the game. Some concerns he’s received are “If it’s sexual, I can’t buy it” and “I’m gonna buy this, but what kind of game is it?” It’s very refreshing to see a major developer taking questions from their fanbase to heart like this and actually doing something proactive about it.

So far a release date for the demo has yet to be announced but the game comes out in Japan on February 17th.
