Catherine: Full Body Comes West this September on PS4
Atlus USA announced that Catherine Full Body will be coming west on PlayStation 4 this September with a new trailer.
Atlus USA finally revealed the western release date for Catherine: Full Body. The remake by Studio Zero will be launching in America and Europe on September 3, 2019. The day Atlus USA chose to announce the western release date isn’t a coincidence, as today, February 14, is the release date of the Japanese version of the game.
Catherine: Full Body is a remake of Catherine, released on PS3 in 2011. The game features Vincent, a young man caught in a predicament as he starts cheating on his longtime girlfriend right around the same time she announces to him she might be pregnant. Constantly pressurized and tormented by the situation he mostly brought upon himself, Vincent starts having nightmares. These nightmare sequences are made of puzzle gameplay segments where players must reach the top of a tower, in order to escape from horrifying monsters born from Vincent’s fears. Depending on the players’ choices, the story’s development and the final fates of Vincent, his girlfriend Katherine, his lover Catherine, and new character Rin, will change drastically.
Compared with the original game, Catherine: Full Body has many additions including new story parts along with new character Rin, new gameplay elements, online multiplayer, and more. Overall, Catherine: Full Body fully deserves the title “remake” and isn’t a simple remaster, which is a role handled by Catherine Classic, now available on PC.
The western version of Catherine: Full Body will include both English and Japanese voice-overs.
The game’s Limited Edition is available for pre-order on the official site. It will be further detailed at a later date. It seems to be mostly the same as the Japanese Limited Edition, but with a sheep plushie.
More details on how the game’s DLC will be published in the west will be coming soon. Catherine Full Body‘s Japanese DLC include things like the Catherine ideal voices which makes Catherine voiced by various Persona girls, Persona 5‘s Joker playable during puzzle segments outside the story mode, other playable characters in these same segments, and the Nero Glasses which makes every character in the game appear in their underwear.
Catherine: Full Body is available now in Japan on PS4 and Vita. The Vita version didn’t make the cut in the west, as it nearly systematically happens now.
Atlus and Sega also teased a few days ago that more and more of their games might be coming to PC.
