Good news basketball gaming fans, MyTeam mode is back. NBA 2K14 developer Visual Concepts is bringing the back the digital trading card mode that debuted in NBA 2K13.

According to the newly released developer diary, MyTeam mode will be similar to the "Ultimate Team" modes in various EA Sports titles by letting you assemble fantasy teams by buying packs of digital trading cards with in-game currency and real money.

Visual Concepts was ever so kind to expand the modes of play by adding tournaments in which players can compete with various levels of cards (bronze, silver, gold and the new sapphire). It doesn't stop there, you'll also be able to customize your team with elements like a name, location and logo, before competing online in head-to-head matches with others; another new part of MyTeam. With all these new changes, one can expect the leaderboards to be extra competitive.

You'll be able to test your skills October 1st when NBA 2K14 releases for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It will be available for PlayStation 4 on November 15th and Xbox One on November 22nd.
