Yesterday at a Bethesda Fall showcase in New York City, DualShockers was invited to check out Doom (2016) on the Nintendo Switch. The title was announced earlier in the month during the most recent Nintendo direct. The mature shooter will be joined by another title from Bethesda when Wolfenstein: The New Colossus joins it on the Switch sometime in 2018.

While we went into the demo with some reservations, both Ryan and I walked out of there impressed with what we saw. This was the real and same Doom that we loved last year. Except now, you can take it on the go.

At the showcase, Bethesda set up a slick "confessional" booth that provided media a place to quickly offload some of our immediate thoughts and impressions of the games we played. I decided to make a short clip to outline some of the things I think you should know about the upcoming Doom release on Switch. Apologies in advance if it sounds like I'm gushing over Doom, it's just that I was not expecting it to look and play this good on the Switch. And truth be told, I don't think anyone did.

Check out some gameplay and my initial thoughts in the video below. You can read our full in-depth preview for Doom on Nintendo Switch here.
