Check Out the New Pikachu Themed New 2DS Coming West Later This Month

Following Detective Pikachu news, Nintendo of America has revealed a new New 2DS Pikachu model that'll be available in the West later this month.

Following news about the upcoming Detective Pikachu game and amiibo, Nintendo has announced that they’ll be bringing a Pikachu themed New 2DS to the West at the end of the month.

The new model is much more up close and personal as opposed to the other Pikachu 3DS models that have been released since the 3DS first came out back in 2011.  Players can expect to get their hands on the new model on January 26 for $159.99. You can check out some screenshots of the device for yourself down below.

There are a few slight differences between the New 2DS and New 3DS devices. The most notable being price, the normal New 2DS models are usually $149.99 whereas the New 3DS is $199.99. Obviously, the New 2DS also won’t include 3D. Furthermore, Nintendo has moved the SD card slot from the back of the 3DS to the bottom of the 2DS, making it easier for you to switch out memory cards.

In other Nintendo news, the company just held its first Nintendo Direct of 2018 where they announced a slew of awesome new titles and remasters coming to the Switch in early 2018. Some announcements include Dark Souls: Remastered, The World Ends With You: Final Remix, Mario Tennis Acesand more.
