Check Out 676 Screenshots From The Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta 3
Yesterday saw the beginning of the much anticipated phase three of the beta of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, and looking at the official forums and twitter quite a few still didn’t receive the coveted invite (and boy, they aren’t happy).
In order to help those that still didn’t receive that mail feel better, or maybe to torture them a little bit (depending on the point of view), I come bearing gifts in the form of 676 screenshots directly from the beta.
In the gallery at the bottom of this post you can see screenshots of the intro cutscenes from all three starting city states (Gridania, Limsa Lominsa and Ul’dah), that sport different onsets for the main storyline. In addition to that, on the menu are 250 screenies from the character creator to give you a good glimpse on the variety of options available.
That way, if you still can’t access the beta, at the very least you can start thinking on how you’d like your character to look. All the screenshots have been shot on PC at 1080p resolution and maximum graphical settings.
As a note to tease my upcoming hands-on preview, that I’ll post after spending enough time with the beta to get a good idea on the quality and features, the framerate is impressively high and stable despite the visual glitz and rich vistas.
Without further ado, I leave you with the gallery just below. Hit that “full screen” button and enjoy. Also, remember that if you didn’t play the first Final Fantasy XIV and plan on playing A Realm Reborn, you may want to check out the eight episodes of my The Story So Far column, that will get you up to speed with the story and help you enjoy the plot of the new game more, considering that it’s a direct sequel. You can also read my hands-on preview of phase one and two of the beta here.
