Developer Tindalos Interactive and publisher Focus Home Entertainment have released the first gameplay trailer for Etherium today. The real-time strategy game cuts to the roots of the genre, as players delve into a three faction war for the resource known as ‘Etherium.’
The four minute video shows off Etherium‘s vast number of units and gigantic machines. While sticking close to the traditional base building and army creation traits that we have seen in RTS games since Starcraft released, Ehterium offers new twists with weather related events like sandstorms and blizzards, and also introduces a battlefield on two fronts with your space fleet playing a role just as important as your ground units.
Conquest mode lets users wage war on a galactic scale, adding some turn-based and macro level elements that you’d expect in a game like Sins of a Solar Empire or the Total War series. You can create invasion fleets, develop your technology tree, spy on your enemies and dominate your enemies planets in this mode, making the game appealing for 4X fans as well.
