Creative Assembly has released a launch trailer today for the Wrath of Sparta DLC for its epic strategy game Total War: Rome II.

The trailer provides plenty of fun as Spartan warriors massacre their enemies with ruthless efficiency in slow motion. The action is even capped off with a throwing spear shot that looks like it was ripped right of 300 and makes you want to scream "This is Sparta!" as you plunge into the turbulent events of the Peloponnesian Wars.

Fans of the Hellenistic period will surely be in for a historical treat with Wrath of Sparta, which released today for $14.99 on PC.
