Check Out This Behind the Scenes Tease of Halo: Nightfall

on October 20, 2014 9:09 PM

We received a new behind the scenes peek at Halo: Nightfall today, complete with commentary from the cast and crew working on the new live action series.

The video has Halo franchise director Frank O’Connor, executive producer David Zucker and actors Mike Colter and Christina Chong providing commentary and giving some insight to the project. Agent Locke, played by Mike Colter, is the primary focus of the series, developing his origins and the transitions his character experiences on his way to being the key character featured on the cover of Halo 5: Guardians. We get see him in this video as a leader of the elite Oni unit, essentially the equivalent to a black-ops group, as they gear up for an adventure in hostile environments.

While the character insight is great, and seeing some of the behind the scenes work in interesting, the shot at 1:18 is by far the most interesting thing in this video. A human like creature seems to breakdown into a flood of of material that flows down the rocky environment. Could this be the return of the Flood? Maybe, but whatever this is seems a bit more inorganic to me, almost like nano-machines. Could this be the new threat for Halo 5: Guardians that Nightfall helps introduce alongside Locke?

Access to Halo: Nightfall is included in the Halo: The Master Chief Collection that releases on November 11th. For diehard fans, this looks like a must to get new details along with your re-mastered classics. You can check out the full video below.
