Early last year, Starmancer developer Ominux partnered with Chucklefish to help publish their upcoming game. The team ran a successful Kickstarter, but decided to bring in Chucklefish's indie publishing expertise to help get the game out the door. If the trailer revealed at E3 is any indication, it looks like both studios are doing a great job. Watch the new trailer below.

In Starmancer, you play as a human who has fused their body with an A.I. trying to rebuild humanity after catastrophe strikes on Earth. You will work to build your very own space station so that you can protect the colonists you bring abroad. The colonists will grow over time and learn new skills. This lets them perform their job much better than before. For example, a sous chef is going to be much better in the kitchen than someone who baked a cake once.

You'll also be able to build your colonists a number of buildings. You'll have everyday buildings like bedrooms and kitchens. As you progress, you can unlock hangers and other higher level buildings that let your colonists explore their galaxy.

The solar system where your space station exists will be randomly generated. It's filled with planets, moons, asteroids, anomalies, and other stations. Your colonists can go to these locations and meet other factions. Depending on how you interact with the other colonies, you can befriend them and set up a mutually beneficial relationship. Or you can murder them all. Your choice.

Starmancer is coming to Linux, Mac, and PC. Keep your eyes on DualShockers for all the E3 news.
