Gust and Koei Tecmo announced through Famitsu the release date of the Surge Concerto: Ciel nosurge remaster, and the Ar nosurge: Ode to an Unborn Star remaster. Both games will be coming in Japan on PS4, Switch and PC via Steam on January 28, 2021. The Steam version launching on that date hints at an English version of the remasters. Koei Tecmo America could make an announcement soon. If it happens, this would be the first time Ciel nosurge gets localized.New details on the remasters Ciel Nosurge DX and Ar nosurge DX will be available in this week's Famitsu magazine, officially titled Weekly Famitsu Magazine October 22, 2020 Issue. The magazine releases on Thursday, October 8 at midnight JST. The magazine will include comments from Surge Concerto Series Director/Producer Akira Tsuchiya. He's the main creator and composer for Ar Tonelico as well, and the Ar tonelico series and the Surge Concerto series form together the EXA_PICO Universe.

The remasters Ciel nosurge DX and Ar no surge DX were first announced in June 2020. Ciel nosurge launched exclusively in Japan on April 26, 2012 on PlayStation Vita. The JRPG by Gust is about repairing the memories of mysterious amnesic girl Ion. The game required an online connection at all times, to illustrate players connecting with Ion from another world. A final version with all DLC, bonus content and playable offline, Ciel nosurge Offline, was released in Japan on October 3, 2014, on PS Vita. Ciel nosurge DX is based on this version. Ar nosurge is Ciel nosurge‘s sequel, first launched on PS3 on March 6, 2014. Ar nosurge Plus, a different version, launched on October 2, 2014 on PS Vita, and Ar nosurge DX will be based on this version.
