What can out-ridiculize Rocket League’s rocket-powered soccer gameplay? How about a game that uses similar mechanics to bring Harry Potter‘s Quidditch to consoles. That’s exactly what developer Blue Isle Studios hopes to accomplish with their spin-off game mode Broomstick Leauge that is taking over Citadel: Forged with Fire.

What exactly is the Broomstick League? According to Blue Isle, the games are up to 5v5 in a brand new arena that will last five minutes long. Much like Quidditch, there is a tiered scoring system with multiple rings. Shooting balls in different rings will award different points. The team with the higher score wins.

Unlike Rocket League, however, there is a bit more customization present in Broomstick League. Beyond being able to customize your broom and armor, players can also build their own arenas. Even further on that, you can build entirely new games, so long as they fit within the mode’s toolbox. The trailer, seen below, actually shows off a pachinko-like mode.

Haven’t heard of the broader umbrella game, Citadel: Forged with Fire? The game is an MMORPG that launched in July of 2017 and has been updated with various expansions over the year.

As mentioned above, Citadel: Forged with Fire is available now on PC, alongside the brand new Broomstick League mode. Check out the trailer, below:
