City-building game Cities: Skylines' Mass Transit expansion first released on PC over year ago, but had not been available on console until now. Colossal Order and Paradox Interactive announced and held a surprise release for Cities: Skylines - Mass Transit on PS4 and Xbox One today.

According to Paradox, this transit-focused expansion was one of the best selling add-ons for Cities: Skylines on PC, so they are excited to bring the game over to consoles. For those of you who have yet to be exposed to this expansion, Cities: Skylines - Mass Transit adds some new gameplay systems that allow players to improve their city's transit options.

This means players can implement things like ferries, blimps, monorails, and cable cars. Transit hubs can also be created some your city's citizens can access all of these public services from place. Some new traffic-focused scenarios and hats for Chirper are also included in Cities: Skylines - Mass Transit. A free update has also been released on console today, which adds a ton of new road and transportation-based improvements for players to mess around with.
