Bandai Namco just released a batch of direct feed, 1080 screenshots the crazy monster mashup meets survival game City Shrouded in Shadows, by Disater Report developer Granzella.

For once, we get to see something big that isn't a threat to the hero and the heroine. As the city falls into chaos, the Ingram labors from Metropolitan Police Special Vehicle Section 2, Division 2 will scramble to the scene (directly from the manga and anime Patlabor) to protect them.

They are active in the city in order to fight Labor-related crime (as in related to mechas named Labor, not to work). In the game, a heavy labor Grau Bear has gone rogue and is wreaking havoc in the highrise district. The Ingram will fight against it, while the Pyrobuster fire department labors will be conducting rescue operations in various places.

We also get to see a few characters: the cold and cruel Ryoji Shibata wants to kill the hero Minoru Kawai, who has witnessed an illegal exchange. Katsuhiro Muto is an ex-boxer and Shibata's hired goon. He's quite rough around the edges and not very good at thinking (Shibata does that for him), but his strength is fearsome.

Miho Yamamura is a little girl who lost her sister and got attached to the heroine Yuki Kono. Together with Minoru, they'll be trying to find her parents. Shinji Yamamura is her father, and he was hospitalized during a serious traffic accident a few days before disaster struck the city.

More monsters threatening the city are teased in the form of shadows. One definitely looks like Mothra from the Godzilla franchise. The second looks like one of the many variations of Ultraman, able to fly.

Last, but not least, we catch a glimpse on the pre-order bonuses, including costumes from Disaster Report and Disaster Report 2, and a PlayStation Store exclusive which includes an event with PlayStation mascots Toro and Kuro, which will reward players with their costumes.

Last, but not least, we learn about a limited edition exclusive to the Bandai Namco store, that will include the game, a T-Shirt with an unrevealed design, a large-size tin badge, and two costumes. The heroine will get the uniform of Hikari Miyamoto from Summer Lesson, while the hero will get one from Pro Yakyuu Famista Climax.

You can check the screenshots out below. If you want to see more, you can also take a look at the new trailer released last weeka batch of older images, alongside a second, slightly older batch.

City Shrouded in Shadow will release in Japan on October 19th, exclusively for PS4. A PS Vita version has been recently canceled.
