Sid Meier's Civilization VI: Rise and Fall, the popular strategy game's first expansion, is poised to come out in just over a month, and developer Firaxis and publisher 2K are still showing off some of the new Civilizations included within the expansion. Today they revealed another, The Cree, who will be led by Poundmaker.

For those of you who don't know about Poundmaker, he was originally an adopted member of the Blackfoot tribe but was eventually taken in by the Cree and helped to negotiate a somewhat fair treaty between the Cree and the Canadian government. Unfortunately, the Canadians eventually thought his tribe was in rebellion, even though it wasn't, and attacked. Poundmaker was initially able to fend off the Canadians, but when he tried to negotiate with him, he was arrested and sent to a prison for a year and died shortly after he came out.

The Cree's unique unit in Sid Meier's Civilization VI: Rise and Fall is the Okihtcitaw, a reconnaissance unit that replaces the Scout. That being said, the Okihtcitaw have addition combat strength and receive a free promotion. Meanwhile, their unique improvement is called the Mekewap, which gives the Cree additional housing, production, and gold when it is next to a luxury resource and food when adjacent to bonus resources.

Poundmaker's unique ability is named Favorable Terms. It makes all alliances provide extra visibility, grants additional food when trading with certain cities. The Cree's unique Civilization ability is called Nihithaw. This ability ensures that the Civilization get their first trade route after researching pottery, and claims each title a trader is place on when they move onto an unclaimed title within 3 tiles of a Cree city.
