Today Prototype announced the Japanese release date of the PS4 version of the beloved visual novel Clannad. It will come on June 14th.

The game, developed by Key and originally released in April 2004, is considered by many one of the best visual novels of all time.

The new version will come with 1080p support, which is the highest resolution the series ever had among its many ports. Music and voices have been remastered in 5.1, but the most interesting thing is that despite this being a Japanese release, it will include English text.

This means that those who want to play it without knowing a word of Japanese will be able to, after importing the game or downloading it from the Japanese PlayStation Store (you'll need a Japanese account, which you can get by following our handy guide)

You can actually catch a glimpse of the English localization in one of the screenshots that can be found in the gallery below, alongside the box art, artwork for all the main characters, and plenty more screenshots.

The game will release both at retail (for 5,200 yen plus taxes) or via digital download, costing 4,600 yen taxes included.
