Back in the 1990s, fighting games like Street Fighter and more famously, Mortal Kombat, took over arcades and home consoles as the place to throwdown, though players with a fondness for the wacky ClayFighter should look forward to next year.
Developer and publisher Interplay announced through a press release that the company will release a remastered collection of ClayFighter, the light-hearted and comical take on popular fighting games of the 1990s.
Working alongside developer Drip Drop Games, the remastered collection will include all of the previous ClayFighter titles along with new gameplay mechanics and improvements, including double jumps, counters, reversals, and more to better suit the game in the age of modern fighting games. In addition to the gameplay improvements, Interplay and Drip Drop will also provide newly-remastered audio and high-resolution visuals, to make sure the game’s signature “Clayality” finishing moves are in perfect, pristine stop-motion glory.
The remastered ClayFighter collection is set to release for PC in 2016 – stay tuned for more information and details as news develops.
