Known for defining the third-person shooter genre through games like the Gears of War series and more recently known for his work at Boss Key Productions and LawBreakers, Cliff Bleszinski has long been a veteran of the gaming industry, but has now announced that he is heading on to a new venture in a completely different setting.

After previously teasing what was next for him in life after the games industry, Bleszinski announced that he will be moving on to the theater industry as a co-producer on the upcoming Broadway musical, Hadestown.

The move may make for a surprise for those that have been following Bleszinski's career in the games industry after having worked on titles such as LawBreakers and, before that, the Gears of War series with Epic Games. However, Bleszinski has been known as a theater lover, so the move to him working in the theater industry is one that I personally am looking forward to seeing.

Hadestown is an upcoming musical production that will begin performances on Broadway in March 2019, after a previous run Off-Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop in 2016. The musical is based on the folk opera album by singer-songwriter Anais Mitchell, and the story itself adapts the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, as Orpheus embarks on a journey into the underworld to find and rescue Eurydice from its clutches.
