Independent developer Logtown Studios has announced that its debut game, Cloudborn, will be a VR title with a release window of early September 2017.
Cloudborn is a VR exploration game set in an unknown world, where the player must explore by climbing through the clouds. There, a lost civilization’s remains rest, and their secrets have yet to be fully uncovered.
Game Designer Alberto Amigo says that making a colorful game devoid of combat as a main gameplay mechanic was an important decision for Cloudborn’s development, especially for the VR platform.
“VR really allows us to experience some of that curiosity we had as children and that’s what we want players to experience with Cloudborn.”
According to the developer, Cloudborn was designed to be comfortable regardless of the user’s playstyle. Whether you want to play seated, standing, or in a room scale setup, the game’s use of tracked controllers allows you to play just how you want.
Cloudborn has been developed for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. The game’s PlayStation VR version will be released at a later date.
