If you're in the market for a striking cyberpunk game that lets you traverse futuristic highways as a semi-legal delivery driver, then ION Lands has a game for you. Cloudpunk takes you to a rain-drenched city of the future and lets you loose on the skyways. The team calls it a "story-based exploration game", but all I'm noticing is how great driving around the city looks. Give the latest trailer a watch, and stick around to the end for the release date announcement.

In Cloudpunk, you play as Rania and the game kicks off with you working your first night for a delivery company in Nivalis. Your work is, as the developer says, "semi-legal", and you'll have to keep your wits about you as you meet all kinds of characters during your travels. For me, the thing that caught my eye was how good your delivery truck looks flying through the striking city of Nivalis. We've weirdly seen a lot of narrative-based games set in taxi cabs recently, but this city delivery game stands out in that you're actually driving the hovercar.

It's worth mentioning that ION Lands is really pumping up the narrative aspects of Cloudpunk. They're talking a lot about your decisions having lasting impressions and I'll be interested to see how well all that goes. If they can merge what looks like a fun city-driving game with a great story, they might have a hit on their hands.

Cloudpunk launches on PC April 23. ION Lands is working on bringing the game to Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One later this year.
