A new Twitter account was launched for an upcoming game adaptation of Sunrise’s Code Geass anime franchise.

Publisher, developer, and what kind of game it will be is still unknown. More details will be shared on September 16th, when multiple giant screens across Akihabara will show a video revealing more.

The Code Geass anime franchise celebrated its tenth year anniversary in 2016. This new game might tie-in with the upcoming new anime movie, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection. The game’s official site, which you can check here, has a DMM Games copyright on it, strongly implying it might turn out to be a mobile or browser game. Yet, DMM works on a variety of things, so you never know.

Code Geass already had game adaptations in the past. The first one was Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, a typical turn-based RPG released in 2017 on Nintendo DS, which left me a sour taste back then. The second one was Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Lost Colors, a Visual Novel released in 2008 on PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 2. The third and last game until now was Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 Banjou no Geass Gekijou, a minigames compilation for Nintendo DS that released in 2008.

As a huge Code Geass fan, I’m obviously looking forward to this and hope we’ll get a good mecha game out of the franchise. Though I must say Super Robot Taisen games with Code Geass in them already fill in that role perfectly.
