Many don't expect voice actors to be actually good at games, but Kaito Ishikawa just proved that he is no slouch on Bandai Namco's brutal Souls-like action JRPG Code Vein.

Ishikawa-san voices Louis, one of the game's companions who accompanies the playable hero. He is also known for a ton of other roles including Fidel Camuze in Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness, Nero in Devil May Cry 4, and Logix Fiscario in Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky.

Bandai Namco challenged him to beat the Queen's Knight boss in the game, with a twist. Starting at twenty deaths, the actor pledged to take part in a "punishment game" in which he'd have to receive increasing penalties depending on the number of demises.

Yet, he had to receive none, as he died only eleven times before he finally managed to defeat the boss. Considering the level of challenge, that's impressive. The same boss literally humiliated me when I tried the game in September (even if I did not have even close to eleven tries), while Azario managed to avenge me in January, not without considerable effort.
