During Ring of Honor's last pay-per-view of 2018, Final Battle, Cody Rhodes and his wife Brandi Rhodes walked down to the ring in some familiar looking video game garb. Here's a tweet from TDE Wrestling that gives us a good look of the two:

Yes, Cody came down as Venom Snake from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Sporting camo pants, headband, eye patch, and the iconic red robotic hand, I could have sworn Snake was walking down the ramp. Alas, he revealed his true identity and it was indeed Cody Rhodes. The camera quickly switches over to Brandi who is also wearing some familiar looking attire. From Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, we see her wearing The Boss' white jumpsuit.

I know what you're thinking. Did he wear all that while wrestling? The answer is no. It would have been unfair to his opponent, Jay Lethal. That mechanical arm could shoot like a rocket. Not only would Lethal lose but he'd also be dead in an instant.

This also confirms that Cody Rhodes is a big nerd. I'm sure Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows would have some choice words (or word) to say to him.

This isn't the first time a wrestler has dressed in video game inspired attire. WWE's fan-favorite tag team, The New Day, have come out in Final Fantasy gear with Kofi Kingston as a Red Mage, Big E as a samurai, and Xavier Woods as a monk. The Elite's Kenny Omega once entered the ring with Destiny 2 garb consisting of an Osiris inspired headpiece and cape, as well as a replica of Vigilance Wing, an exotic pulse rifle from the game.

It's pretty cool to see these pro wrestlers embrace their interests and bring them to life. This is among one of my favorite video game homages in professional wrestling next to Kenny Omega's signature move, the V-trigger.
