Today, NIS America announced the final entry in the Legend of Heroes Erebonia Arc, Trails of Cold Steel 4, is releasing this fall for PlayStation 4, followed by Switch and PC releases next year.

As confirmed by Game Informer, details on the various editions were revealed. The "Frontline Edition" coming in at $59.99 includes the game, artbook, soundtrack CD and reversible box art. The Switch will be receiving a similar edition, however, the soundtrack will instead be a digital download and not a physical CD.

For rabid fans (myself included), a $99.99 Limited Edition will also be released. Included in this version are the game, a more extensive soundtrack CD, a larger hardcover art book, a steelbook case, a cloth poster, and a set of seven art cards. The Switch version will feature the exact same items as well, CD included. You can check out screenshots of the different editions below.

I spent a lot of time last year playing through all three of the previous Trails of Cold Steel games. I fell in love with the characters, the world, and its history so much, they became my top game(s) of the year in 2019. The official announcement of Trails of Cold Steel 4 has me excited to finish the final chapter of this saga,

Recently, the fan translation of Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki (Trails from Zero)  was released, one part of the Crossbel Arc of titles in the series.  These games, along with the Trails in the Sky titles are important to play before Trails of Cold Steel 4 releases this fall.

If you want to get caught up on the series' story, Trails of Cold Steel 3 is available now on PS4, Switch, and PC.
