Over on NIS America's twitter this morning, a brand new trailer for the upcoming Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 4 was released, showing off the dire straights that Class VII now finds themselves in.

Cold Steel 4 picks up shortly after the events of the previous entry. Rean Schwarzer, Professor at Thor's Branch Campus, head of the new Class VII and leader of the old Class, has been taken captive after losing control of his Ogre powers. Now, captured and held prisoner with war once again on Erebonia's doorstep, Class VII, both new and old, will have to unite to rescue their friend and mentor while also finding a way to turn the tide and end the fighting. They will need to rely on new and old companions to do so, however, including those from other countries who may be familiar to longtime fans of the Legend of Heroes: Trails sagas.

2020 seems to be the year of Trails. In the west, we are finally getting Cold Steel 4 and PC and Switch players getting Cold Steel 3, Over in Japan, a brand new entry is coming in August, Legend of Heroes: Hajimari no Kiseki, along with enhanced versions of the Crossbel Duology games on the PS4. And lastly, a fan translation has been released of Trails to Zero, allowing English-speaking fans to enjoy the first of the Crossbel arc of titles!

This final entry in the Erebonia arc, Cold Steel 4's localization was announced back in early April, alongside that the previous game was  coming to both Nintendo Switch and PC! Last year, I played through the first three of the Cold Steel games, and they took the gold as my favorite games of 2019. The Legend of Heroes is a fantastic series that, in the past year has jumped up near the top of my all-time favorite RPG series'. With a connected world and narrative, these games are worth a playthrough for any fan of the genre.
